This is the lesson that Wayne Bent, 67, just learned. Wayne, also known as Michael Travesser (because Jesus likes a good alias), was found guilty of one count of criminal sexual contact of a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. What did Wayne do to earn these charges? He laid in bed nude with a 14 year old and 16 year old girl in separate incidences. Oh, I should mention the girls were also nude. Wayne explained that he merely had his hand on their sternums and was performing “spiritual healing exercises “. Sure Wayne…and Jim Jones was just serving Kool-Aid.
After his conviction, Wayne was unrepentant. ”Just as with Jesus, they’ve convicted an innocent man,” the child molester pastor was quoted as saying. He also pointed out that this was part of God’s master plan. “These encounters with these two girls were intended to offend your world and make you mad and convict me”. Good news, Wayne. the plan worked!
Wayne says that when he goes to prison, he will probably not eat and will likely die. Ah, if it was only that easy Wayne. Unfortunately for you, the prison system is pretty good at keeping people well fed. Just look at the rash of fat inmates lately. Richard Cooey, anyone?
No, my guess is that they will take very good care of you. And here is the REALLY good news. You are going to get to provide your spiritual healing exercises to all kinds of people. Well, primarily men but the message is still the same. I hope you thoroughly enjoy lying next to these guys (nude, of course). They also have a special “exercise” that I am sure they can’t wait to share with you.
Church followers are not dissuaded by the conviction of child molester pastor Wayne. Wayne’s son, Jeff, says this is all part of the prophetic time we are living in. Awesome, another religion that feels that they can do anything they want because “the end is near”. These people are easily the worst of the zealots out there. They fear no repercussions for their actions because the world is going to blow up in about 20 minutes.
If you want to avoid this particular group, don’t join The Lord Our Righteousness Church in New Mexico. (“Our righteousness”…how quaint). By the way, I have been referring to Wayne as the child molester pastor of the church. That was wrong of me. His actually title is “Messiah”. (I sh** you not).

It makes you wonder why people fall for this, and where are the parents of these girls?

Marianne, no offense… but, except for the naked girls part, how is this guys version of “end times” any different than yours? As near as I could tell, your site is pretty much devoted to the end of the world. For sinners like me, that seems like a fairly “out there” point of view. (The good news is I do a have a gun and supplies…just in case).

I have to admit that what you see nowadays is a scandal, and is a mockery of the original teachings. So you have a right to criticize most of what you see, because it really is false, and deserves to be criticized.
this guy is way off, compared to what jesus taught. There really is a group of christians who do not act this way, or think this way. We actually try to follow the original teachings.
This was predicted in the bible as well, that there would be a great falling away, with only a remnant of faithful people left. But you do not need to be a bible person to believe any of the current situation. It is right there on TV. Iran and Russia making an alliance against the US. Threats to destroy USA and Israel has been going on for a while now. Russia is determined that no US military action to defend Israel against will disrupt its oil supply from Iran.
So what I do is compare the current situation with bible prophecy, and it compares fairly well. I am glad you have a gun to defend yourself. Just on the economic situation alone, there could be riots.

Marianne – That was a very reasonable explanation. Obviously, I don’t see things the same way because I can’t remember a time in history when there was NOT tremendous political and religious upheaval. In fact, I can remember my Mom talking about the “end times” being near 40 years ago.
But the truth is none of us know for sure what is going to happen so I do respect your views. I kind of like my life so I would prefer that the end be put off for a little while longer. Maybe you could put in a word with The Big Guy for me.

Well, there has always been wars, that is true. But now our weapons are more lethal than before, and can actually wipe out the planet. So it makes the current times much worse.

Your doubts are reasonable also. You look at the phoniness, and say “forget it.”
What is promised in the bible is actually good, not bad. For those that want evil, they will get it. For those that want good, they will have their desire. Each generation will be judged on the time frame in which it lived as well. We have the largest challenges and threats of any generation, so I hope God will show lots of mercy.
